21-year-old becomes France’s first weather host with Down syndrome [Video]

A 21-year-old French woman became the country’s first weather presenter with Down syndrome. In March, Mélanie Ségard launched a Facebook page called Melanie can do it, with the help of the National Union of Charities for Parents with Disabled Children.

In her video, she urged French weather outlets to allow her on their shows if she reached 100,000 likes. She surpassed this goal by acquiring more than 204,000 likes. Her video also received over 3.1 million views.

She fulfilled her dream of giving the weather by going live on France 2 and BFMTV March 27. As she wrote on her social media page, “I’m different, but I want to show everyone that I can do a lot of things.”
